How To Create a Branded Upload Form

This is an in depth look at an important feature of Enterprise and Isolated Cloud accounts – Branded Upload Forms. This page will review how to set one up, how to customize and how to set the security options.

Once you’ve logged in, click on ‘Enterprise’ on the menu bar, then click Branded Forms in the submenu.

Next enter a name for the Branded Upload Form you will create and click ‘Add’. This is an internal label, and will not be visible to those using the form.

Once it is named, a new box titled “Branded Forms you have created” will appear. Click on “Edit” next to the name of your upload form to customize your settings.

Click ‘Expand’ next to Section 1) Form Labels. Here, you can change the form labels of the default fields on your Branded Upload Form. You can change the text in any of the fields, thus renaming the field. In our example, we have re-labeled the ‘Recipient’ field, ‘To’ so that it will look similar in style to an email.

In Section 2) Single, Multiple, or Prefilled Recipients, you can decide to allow for single, multiple, or prefilled recipients. Prefilled recipients allows those using your Branded Upload Form to choose, via a drop down menu, who to send files to without needing to remember or know email addresses. In order to set prefilled recipients, select Prefilled Recipients and then type in the email addresses and display name in the provided fields, click ‘Add.’  You can add as many as you want or remove them at any time.

In Section 3) Sender Options, you can let your users have some control over their file transfer experience. This is a list of options that can be displayed to your users when selected here. Check any of the boxes in the ‘Show’ column, and the corresponding line will be shown. The user will have the opportunity to choose that selection. If you check the ‘Default’ box, that option will be shown as the default selection. The ‘Locked’ option will show that the choice has been made for them and the sender will not be able to change it. We recommend using this setting for the first two lines: Secure Transfer and Secure Storage. This will show senders that high security options are in place. [Note: all transfers and storage are secured with the highest encryption we offer, regardless of how these boxes are checked. The ability to show, default, & lock those options are provided to ensure that the senders know that their files are safe and secure.]

In Section 4) SMTP Setup, you can assign an SMTP account that you have already set up. This will allow you to mask the SendThisFile notifications so that they appear to come from your servers instead of the SendThisFile servers. This will make it easier for end recipients to understand why they are receiving notifications. Simply choose your SMTP settings from the drop down selection. If you haven’t configured any SMTP settings, please refer to our page “How to configure secure SMTP“.

Section 5) Branded Emails and Form Inputs, will allow you to assign Branded Emails and Form Inputs to your Branded Upload Form. Branded Emails are another way to customize your SendThisFile experience, for both yourself and your users. If you haven’t set up any Branded Email templates, you’ll need to do before you can add them here.

Branded Form Inputs allow you to create completely new fields on your upload form, in addition to the default fields. This is helpful if you would like to collect data in fields like ‘Order Number’ or ‘Account Number.’ Before you can assign these inputs to your Branded Upload Form, you will need to create these custom fields.

Section 6) URL (Website Address), reveals the actual URL of your Branded Upload Form. You can also obtain a customized URL to give to your users and clients, just as our Customer Support. This will make it easy for people to remember how to get to your Branded Upload Form. Below the URL, is the ‘Website Return Link.’ In this field, put the URL that you would like to redirect your users to, after they have successfully used your form to send files. The last box is the i-frame code for your Branded Upload Form, copy/paste it to embed the Upload Form onto your website.

In Section 7) Head and Content HTML, you can alter the Branded Upload Form if you are familiar with CSS/HTML code. You can change the logo on your form in this area. Look at the image below for the portion of the code that is highlighted. That code represents the default SendThisFile logo. If you have a hosted logo, just copy the specific URL for that logo, delete the SendThisFile logo, and paste your logo’s URL in those places.

The next step is to make sure that all of the parts of your Form are in the right area. To do that, scroll to the menu at the top of the page and click ‘Layout’. You can use our step by step instructions on how to change the ‘Layout’ of your Branded Upload Form.
